A 33-inch quartz sleeve for UV-C sterilizer chambers using the 40W, G10q 4-pin lamp format — the same size as our Philips and generic 33-inch UV lamps and our 33-inch stainless steel UV sterilizer. The sleeve sits between the lamp and the water flow: it keeps the lamp itself completely dry while still letting UV-C light pass through, since ordinary glass blocks UV-C but quartz doesn't.
The sleeve is what actually contacts the water — the lamp never does. Mineral scale from hard water builds up on the sleeve's outer surface over time and blocks UV-C transmission even if the lamp itself is still working, which is why the sleeve needs its own cleaning and eventual replacement schedule, independent of the lamp.

Wipe the sleeve clean periodically, especially in hard-water areas where scale forms fastest — a visibly cloudy or scaled sleeve is blocking UV-C output even if the lamp itself is fine. Handle it carefully during installation: quartz is more brittle than ordinary glass and can crack if dropped or over-tightened.
