A 33-inch stainless steel UV-C sterilizer chamber for final-stage disinfection on commercial RO plants and other high-volume water systems. Reverse osmosis removes dissolved salts and chemical impurities, but bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms can still get through — this unit adds a 254nm UV-C dosing stage after the RO train to close that gap.

How it works

UV-C disinfection works by damaging the DNA and RNA of microorganisms as water passes the lamp, so they can no longer reproduce or cause infection — a purely physical process with nothing added to the water. Inside the chamber, the lamp sits inside a quartz sleeve that keeps it dry and separated from the water flow while still letting UV-C light pass through, so the water itself never contacts the lamp directly.

Installation & maintenance

Install after sediment and carbon pre-filtration and before the point of use — cloudy or high-turbidity water blocks UV light and reduces disinfection performance. Continuous power matters: if the power drops, UV-C protection stops even though water can still flow through the chamber. The lamp is typically replaced annually regardless of its rated hours, since output declines gradually with use, and the quartz sleeve should be wiped clean periodically so mineral scale doesn't block UV transmission.
